In 2014, we celebrated our 100th anniversary with 100 Years of Good, a yearlong campaign focused on our mission to pay it forward across America.
We donated $10,000 to 100 nonprofits and honored 10 fan-nominated individuals with a $10,000 Great American Gratitude Award to ensure they continue their goodwill efforts.
After a nationwide contest with nearly 50,000 entries, Chicken of the Sea is pleased to announce the name of our iconic mermaid.
Our 100 Days of Good Sweepstakes allowed our fans to tell us how they give back for a chance to win $100 each day during the final 10 days of 2014. We also hosted a coin contest where we handed out over 144,000 coins to fans while on tour. Ten of those coins were worth $10,000!
Catalina embarked on a national tour, visiting 56 cities across the country. Fans had a chance to meet the mermaid, learn new recipes and get free samples. We also gave back to the communities we visited.
In 2015, the Mermaid Legacy Fund will continue the pay it forward spirit that has guided Chicken of the Sea since the beginning. The Mermaid Legacy Fund is a permanent corporate initiative that allows the company to donate money, volunteer hours and other resources to a select number of nonprofit organizations in its hometown of San Diego and beyond on a longer term, partnership basis.
