Chicken of the Sea shrimp comes from all over the globe and is procured through a process called "aquaculture." Shrimp aquaculture, also known as farming, a method of shrimp production which recreates the shrimp’s natural open-ocean environment in a coastal area, usually near a low-lying bay or river inlet. Aquaculture allows for more control in raising and harvesting shrimp and results in a high quality product. Refer to the Shrimp Processing section to see how shrimp are processed after they are caught.
