Chicken of the Sea® Lyons, GA Employees to Donate More Than $10,000 to United Way
Employees at iconic seafood brand’s Georgia processing facility to pay it forward by giving directly from paychecks in 2014
LYONS, Ga., (Nov. 14, 2013) – Employees of Chicken of the Sea, a leading provider of healthy, delicious and sustainable seafood, will use their own paychecks to pay it forward in 2014.
Inspired by their local United Way organization and their own company’s nearly century-long commitment to doing good, 35-percent of the employees at Chicken of the Sea’s Lyons, Ga., processing facility have volunteered to give money every pay period in 2014 to improve their community. Combined with employee and company donations, Chicken of the Sea will donate more than $10,000 to local Lyons-area charities, clubs, emergency services, youth/senior citizens programs and special education.
“All of us at Chicken of the Sea are inspired by the actions of our Lyons, Ga., processing facility employees who have volunteered to share their hard-earned dollars throughout 2014 to make their community a better place,” said David Roszmann, COO of Chicken of the Sea.
“As a company that has been dedicated to doing good for nearly 100 years, we are proud to see our employees step forward to continue that legacy. Clearly, they lead the rest of us by example.”
