Chicken of the Sea® Stacks the Deck to Help Americans Eat More Fish
Seafood provider offers its free “Go Fish #EatMoreSeafood Resource Deck” to help encourage greater seafood consumption
SAN DIEGO (May 1, 2017) – A leading San Diego-based seafood company is expanding on a classic kid’s card game to get the public to eat more seafood.
Borrowing from Go Fish! and its popular 10-week seafood recipe initiative of the same name earlier this year, Chicken of the Sea has published the “Go Fish #EatMoreSeafood Resource Deck”, a free, 52-card collection of seafood recipes, serving suggestions, nutrition facts and sustainability tips curated exclusively for seafood fans.
A blend of the best recipes and advice compiled from Chicken of the Sea and its exclusive recipe library, the guide is an extension of the Go Fish! #EatMoreSeafood Challenge, which encouraged Americans to think differently about eating more seafood. The program was in response to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015-2020, which called for substituting seafood for other forms of protein-rich foods for at least two meals (or 8 ounces) per week.
The “Go Fish #EatMoreSeafood Resource Deck” is now available for immediate free download at https://chickenofthesea.com/uploads/pdf/COS_EatMoreSeafood_Full_Deck.pdf.
Andrea Saldarriaga from Chicken of the Sea said, “The most recent dietary guidelines confirm what we’ve known for years: Americans just aren’t eating enough fish. We’re excited to offer free resources like the Go Fish! Guide that challenge the public to step out of its typical meal-planning routine and way of thinking about seafood. As one of our largest free resources, it empowers consumers to eat and live healthier.”
The Go Fish! #EatMoreSeafood Challenge, Jan. 9-March 15, encouraged consumers to submit and share seafood tips, recipes, stories, photos, videos and other sources of inspiration to be considered for inclusion in the Go Fish! Resource Deck.
