Baked Oysters “Rockefeller”

This old-school recipe is still a favorite for a reason: It's absolutely delicious and takes minutes to prepare.

  • 1 (8 oz) can Chicken of the Sea® Whole Oysters, drained
  • 5 Tablespoons butter, divided and melted
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup minced Italian parsley, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 3 Tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese
  • salt, to taste
  • Optional for serving: crackers, toasts, or vegetables

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly oil a small baking dish.
  2. Lay the oysters in the baking dish in a single layer.
  3. In a bowl, combine 4 Tablespoons of melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, 3 Tablespoons of parsley, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Pour the butter mixture over the oysters.
  4. Bake the oysters for 15 minutes.
  5. While the oysters bake, combine the remaining 1 Tablespoon of melted butter, remaining 1 Tablespoon of parsley, bread crumbs, parmesan, and salt to taste.
  6. After the oysters have baked for 15 minutes, add the breadcrumb mixture on top.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes or until the bread crumbs are golden.
  8. Serve with crackers, toasts, or vegetables.
