Easy Italian Salsa Verde with Sardines This flavorful Italian Salsa Verde is perfect served with cheese & bread or over steak or fish! Total Time 30 minutes Servings 4 servings Ingredients Share 2 (3.75 oz) cans Chicken of the Sea® Sardines in Water, drained2 Tablespoons olive oil2 garlic cloves, minced2 cups flat-leaf parsley, roughly chopped1/2 teaspoon lemon zest3 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice1 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste1/3 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper2 teaspoons capers, drained1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard, or more to taste1/4 cup good olive oil Instructions Heat the 2 Tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet and add garlic. Stir frequently until garlic is fragrant, be careful to not burn! Take off heat and set aside. In a food processor, combine parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, pepper, capers, sardines and Dijon mustard. Pulse to combine. Add olive oil through the top opening while blending until it reaches desired consistency. Taste and adjust seasonings to your liking. Serve over steak, fish, or on toasted bread with cheese.
