Overview of Role

Direct or coordinate production scheduling, purchasing, receiving, warehousing, shipping, distribution, Critical Materials and financial forecasting services or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy. Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product supply and distribution needs. Direct the movement, storage, or processing of frozen fish and critical material inventories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
  • Supervise product scheduling that optimize plant production and meets customer demand.
  • Work with Corporate Demand Planning
  • Work with Corporate Marketing on labels and packaging
  • Work with Corporate R&D and QA on new products and ingredients
  • Supervise all Shipping and Receiving activities
  • Supervise local procurement
  • Supervise Fish Storage
  • Supervise Thawing process and employees
  • Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists.
  • Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.
  • Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
  • Approve new suppliers in conjunction with QA and keep documentation for all suppliers up to date. 
  • Contact person for packaging change or projects.

Physical Demands

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, communicate, usually through talking, hearing, writing and typing. Employee should be able to operate standard office equipment, i.e., telephones, computers, facsimile and copier. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, and move or lift to 35 lbs. The employee regularly works in a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with a moderate degree of noise. The employee is required to comply with all company policies, rules and directives, including safe work practices.
